Section committees
The following four committees handle administrative business as it pertains to section meetings, awards, etc.; they are the Nominating Committee, Program Committee, Teaching Award Committee, and the Ohio NExT Organizing Committee.
The composition of each committee and their purpose are given below.
Nominating Committee

Committee Responsibilities:
The Nominating Committee nominates at least one candidate for each position for which an election is to be held at the next Annual Meeting. It provides a written report on the slate of nominees to be included in the section newsletter announcing the Annual Meeting. Appointed members serve a two-year term with the second year as chair.
PROGRAM COMMITTEE

Committee Responsibilities:
The Program Committee arranges, in cooperation with the Executive Committee, suitable programs for presentation at the Annual and Fall Meetings. Members are elected to three-year terms. The chair of the Program Committee is the member completing the third year on the committee and is also a Section officer.
TEACHING AWARD COMMITTEE

Yong Ju Lee, Ashland University (2028)
Committee Responsibilities:
The Teaching Award Committee requests and reviews nominations for the Ohio Section Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics. Members select a recipient of this award each year and make the presentation at the Annual Meeting in the year that they receive it. The Teaching Award Committee may also solicit nominations for other MAA teaching awards, such as the Henry L. Alder Award. Members are typically the most recent teaching award recipients and serve for two years.

OHIO NExT ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

Committee Responsibilities:
The primary duty of the Ohio NExT Organizing Committee is organizing and overseeing activities of the Section that are specifically to serve faculty members who are new to the Section. Currently, the committee arranges Ohio NExT programs in conjunction with the Annual and Fall meetings and maintains correspondence among NExT participants. Members are appointed to three-year terms.
CONTEAL
Committee Responsibilities:
The duties of CONTEAL shall consist of continual study of teacher education and licensure in the state of Ohio, reporting same to the Section, preparing recommendations for appropriate state authorities, and such other related matters as may be charged to it by the President

CONSTUM
Committee Responsibilities:
The duties of CONSTUM shall consist of directing and coordinating all activities of the Section that specifically serve student members of the Section and students attending Section meetings, and other such related matters as may be charged to it by the President.

The duties of CONSACT shall consist of such activities of the Section, aside from program meetings, as are charged to it by the President.
